How we run a case

The firm runs the case, from enquiry to decision.

Five stages, from the first message to the decision. First we check whether we can help, and only then do we talk about price.

1. Describe the situation

Write in a messenger or fill in the form. Basic information is enough: citizenship, current basis of stay, what the matter concerns and whether you have a letter from the office. At this stage we ask for no documents.

If you have a request or a decision, give the date of delivery. That is the first thing we need, because the deadline runs from it.

2. Case check

We tell you quickly whether the firm can take the case. This is not a formality: we do not take cases where we see no real prospect of helping, and we say so plainly. If a deadline is running, say so in your first message and call us.

3. Consultation

The consultation is a paid service: it is booked and paid for before the appointment, and its cost is credited against the fee if we go on to run the case. We assess the legal basis, the documents and the risks. The consultation ends with a plan of action and a list of the documents needed in this case specifically, not a general list from the internet.

  • What is possible, and on what basis.
  • What is missing, and where to get it.
  • What could make the case harder.
  • What it costs.

4. Contract and documents

The price written into the contract is fixed for the agreed scope. We prepare the application, submission or appeal and assemble the attachments. We agree how to send documents once the case is accepted; the form on the site is not for that.

5. Running the case

We file, watch the deadlines, answer the office and keep you informed of the status. Once you grant a power of attorney, we represent you before the competent authorities.

Questions about this

How long does the whole case take?

The stages on our side are predictable, but the length of the proceedings depends on the office and the type of case. We do not quote specific timings, because that would be a promise about something we do not control.
