Temporary residence card

Your application is handled by an advocate, not an agency.

A temporary residence permit is issued by the voivode competent for your place of residence. Since 27 April 2026 the application is filed electronically through the Case Handling Module. We run the case from choosing the legal basis to the decision.

What a temporary residence card is

A residence card is the document that confirms a permit already granted. The card itself is not the basis of your stay: the permit is the basis, and the card certifies it. That is why the first step is not filling in a form but establishing which permit you can actually apply for.

The basis depends on what you do in Poland. The firm handles residence matters connected with work, running a business, studies, and family or marriage.

Who decides your case

Proceedings are run by the voivode competent for your place of residence, not for your place of work or your employer's registered address. This distinction is a common source of mistakes when the address changes mid-case.

If the decision is a refusal, the second-instance authority is the Head of the Office for Foreigners. The firm conducts cases before the voivode competent for the client's place of residence and appeals to the Head of the Office for Foreigners.

What we do in this matter

  • We analyse the legal situation and the documents you provide.
  • We choose or verify the basis of stay.
  • We assess the available routes, the risks, the missing documents and the deadlines.
  • We prepare the application and assemble the documents.
  • Once you grant a power of attorney, we represent you before the authority.
  • We monitor the case and prepare replies to official requests.

Filing through the Case Handling Module

Since 27 April 2026 applications for a temporary residence permit, a permanent residence permit and EU long-term resident status are filed exclusively through the Case Handling Module. What changes is the channel and the form of the attachments - a digital photograph, a scan of every passport page, proof of payment - not what the office assesses on the merits.

Despite the electronic route, at some point in the case you must appear in person - to give fingerprints and a specimen signature and to show your original passport. How the date is set depends on the office: sometimes the office sets it in a summons, sometimes you book the visit yourself in the case status panel, in a window that stays open only for a limited time. We keep track of that for you. Beyond that we run most stages remotely, whichever voivodeship you live in.

A deadline in a request is binding

If a request to supplement your file arrives mid-case, the deadline runs from delivery, and missing it can end the proceedings. It is the first thing we check when you come to us with a letter in hand.

What we do not do

  • We are not an employment agency and we publish no job offers.
  • We do not take a case without assessing whether we can genuinely help.

The content of this page is informational and is not legal advice in an individual case. Advice follows once we take the instruction.

Questions about this

Can I work while waiting for the decision?

It depends on the basis of your stay and on whether the work is covered by a permit or a declaration. We check this at the consultation, before you sign anything, because the consequences reach both your stay and the legality of your employment.

What if I change address during the case?

The competent authority follows your place of residence, so a change of address can change the office handling your case. It has to be reported, and we check which steps your situation requires.
